Wet type peanut peeling machine is a specialized piece of equipment designed for removing the red skin from soaked peanuts in a gentle and effective way. Unlike dry peeling machines, this wet method softens the skins through warm-water soaking and then removes them using soft rubber rollers, achieving clean peeling with minimal kernel damage. This makes the machine ideal for food processors who require high-quality, intact, and smooth peanut kernels.
Main Advantages of the Wet Type Peanut Peeling Machine
Using a wet peanut skin peeling machine provides several benefits:
- High peeling rate: Typically 92%–98%.
- Low breakage rate and high whole-kernel rate: Breakage is about 2–3%, with 85%–90% whole kernels.
- Clean and smooth peeled kernels: The peanuts remain white and neat, suitable for high-quality food processing.
- Automatic skin–kernel separation: No manual sorting needed, improving efficiency.
- Wide application range: Suitable not only for peanuts but also for soybeans, almonds, chickpeas, green peas, and other nuts and legumes.
- Simple structure and low energy consumption: Easy to operate and maintain, ideal for small and medium food processing plants.
Because of these advantages, wet peeling machines are widely used in peanut oil plants, peanut kernel processing factories, snack production lines, peanut beverage producers, and more.
Working Principle: How the Wet Peanut Peeler Operates
Step 1: Soaking
Peanuts are soaked in warm or hot water for several minutes. This softens the red skin and creates a small gap between the skin and the kernel.
Step 2: Feeding
The soaked peanuts (with a small amount of water) are poured into the feeding hopper. Vibrating or guiding structures send them into the peeling zone.
Step 3: Rubber Roller Peeling
Soft rubber rollers rotate at a controlled speed, gently rubbing the skins off without damaging the kernels.
Step 4: Automatic Discharge & Separation
The peeled kernels exit through one outlet, while the removed skins are separated and discharged through another pathway.
